Best & Co. opened its flagship store on Sixth Avenue and 23rd Street in 1879. The company sold children's clothing, women's apparel and accessories. By 1966, it had grown to 20 branches and was acquired by McCrory's, but closed its doors in 1970. The white marble building was torn down and the Olympic Tower was built in its place.
